Munro day at Lochnagar ⛰️❄️
One of the most iconic Munros in Scotland and easily one of the most rewarding hikes in Aberdeenshire. Starting early with crisp winter air, frozen trails, and blue skies that seemed to stretch forever. The path winds slowly upward through the hills before opening up to the huge views across the Cairngorms — the kind of landscape that makes every step completely worth it.
There’s something special about Lochnagar. Maybe it’s the dramatic cliffs above the loch, the feeling of being deep in the Highlands, or just the quiet you get once you’re up there. Snow underfoot, endless views, and that unbeatable feeling of standing on top of a Munro knowing you earned every metre of elevation.
Days like this are exactly why I love hillwalking in Scotland. The weather can change in minutes, the trails keep you humble, but the reward is always the same — wild landscapes and a clear head.
And of course no hike is complete without a well-earned coffee afterwards ☕
