Instead of watching One Battle After Another, how about you read a book about revolution, abolition, community, mutual aid, and immigration. I have strong feelings about OBAA and very few are good. In my opinion it says nothing while pretending it’s saying something, stereotyping it’s Black women, and mocking leftist movements. I saw someone call it anti-racist and I about screamed. Brooke Obie’s substack “One Fetish After Another: PTA Exploits Black Women and Averts Revolution” really gave me the words to what I was feeling after finishing. So instead of saying “watch the movie and form an opinion” I’m saying “read one of these books that’s actually about revolution and marginalized peoples experiences.” Here are some recommendations to get you started: Ring Shout - P.
