Graffiti, water, and what’s left of the structure all come together in a way that’s a little unexpected. You can get surprisingly close, but it takes a bit of effort and some care getting there. 📍 Burrillville, Rhode Island 👉 Save this for a different kind of New England stop. Have you explored spots like this before? #RhodeIsland #VisitRhodeIsland #ExploreNewEngland #OldMill #AbandonedPlaces Here’s What to Know: - Free parking in a dirt lot at 65 Mill Street in Burrillville, RI. - There’s no path per se — you’ll make your way to the office building first, then down along the river. - Look for a narrow cut-through to the left of the ruins that leads to a rocky ledge over the river. - Do not mess around on this narrow ledge — you can fall in on either side if you’re not careful. - Be prepared to bushwhack a bit. - Wear sturdy shoes with traction for navigating small rocks and bumpy sections. - Young kids should be comfortable on rugged terrain. - Not recommended for dogs. ✅ Hit that follow button for more New England exploring, iconic sites and hidden 💎

Debunking the myths about brick floors 🧱 It’s officially been ONE YEAR since we installed brick floors in our bathroom + laundry room… so here’s my honest review (and answers to your most asked questions 👇) How do you clean them? Just like tile. Vacuum, sweep, mop… I even use my all-in-one vacuum mop. 👉 The secret is in the prep: seal the brick properly + add a durable topcoat. I used a matte polyacrylic and did multiple coats of each—letting everything fully dry and cure in between. Are they cold? Surprisingly, no. They’re actually warmer than traditional tile and really comfortable underfoot. Was installation hard? Yes… and no 😅 We’re DIYers, so everything feels harder the first time. But by our third brick project (hello bedroom fireplace), it was SO much easier. And here’s the best part— Brick isn’t meant to be perfect like tile. Slightly off grout lines? Different sizes? Imperfections? 👉 That’s what gives it all that charm. Final verdict: Still one of my favorite projects I’ve ever done. Every time I walk into those spaces, I smile. Got more questions?
