ESP32-CAM + NEMA17 Logic 🤖 Object detection at the bin level. ♻️ I’ve integrated an ESP32-CAM to identify waste by color and shape, triggering a NEMA17 stepper motor to rotate the bin holder to the correct slot (Wet, Dry, or Metal). The best part? It’s programmed to auto-reset to its home position after every drop to keep the cycle perfectly synced. ​Moving from simple IR sensors to Computer Vision was a huge jump in accuracy, but it definitely added some complexity to the code and power management. ​I’m curious—if you were building this, would you stick with the ESP32-CAM or move to a more powerful processor like a Raspberry Pi? Also, how would you handle the power supply for both the logic and the high-torque stepper? Let’s discuss in the comments! 👇 What should I add next? Resurrecting a project idea I had waaay back when I started studying #EmbeddedSystems and #PIC MCUs, but now with the #CH32V003. #ColorTemp is a minimalistic #Thermometer that maps the temperature to colors using an LM35 and an RGB LED. Today I got the basics working (ADC, PWM and UART). Next I'll map the temperature to the color spectrum. Then I'll probably design a custom PCB!!!
