It’s what YOU put into it: your memory-filled scraps or old quilt, your creative use of color, and most importantly, your TIME.
“Good things take time” is the label attached to the inside of my coat. Sometimes spending time, unlike spending money, enriches you.
The Retazo Coat and Vest sewing pattern itself was made with care and patience. Our tiny team spent months making the pattern, perfecting the fit, writing clear instructions, and integrating valuable feedback from our testers.
Like tending a garden, a project like the Retazo is not one of instant gratification. You plant the seeds, water them, weed them, mulch them. You flow in the process. Then suddenly, the harvest is ready.
This metaphor is top-of-mind because Patrick and I have joined @sanctuaryfarmnc, a garden coop run by the @the.eco.institute . (We filmed this reel among their beautiful flowers last week.)
This slow project is our offering to you, our beloved creative community.
An invitation to slow down.
To use what you already have.
To nourish your spirit, and make something that will forever remind you how capable you truly are of finding possibility when the outlook seems dim.

EMDIY Patchwork T Shirt (easy!!!!) 🧵🤍🪡
I am suddenly obsessed with patchwork shirts and want to make one for everyone I know.
For every event, sports team, holiday, and concert.
A Taylor Swift lyric is not required by any means… but highly encouraged 😉
I will link all the supplies in my stories but this is a diy project that is actually affordable and easy and hardly requires any sewing experience at all.
I promise anyone can do it! Xoxo
1. Grab a t shirt (old or new)
2. Find some fabric scraps. You don’t need much! I purchased 1/8 yards on sale at Joann’s and it cost me $7 total for all of it. I could have made 10+ t shirts because you use so little fabric. You could even cut up other clothing, etc. Get creative!
3. Using washable fabric pens and 2 inch stencils, trace your letters and carefully cut out
4. HOT TIP: use fabric glue to glue the letters in place first before trying to stitch
5. Use an embroidery hoop and floss make a basic stitch on the edge of each letter
And that is it!!!!
