PCOS fatigue is REAL 🥲 Hormonal changes that take place in women with PCOS affect how their body utilizes insulin. You might be aware of how important insulin is for managing our glucose levels! With the resistance and overproduction of insulin common with PCOS, blood sugar levels can fluctuate, with the body not getting enough sugar and then reacting by flooding the system with insulin just to get a small amount 😧 This can lead to women with PCOS feeling shaky, experiencing mood swings, and MAJOR fatigue. This usually happens after eating, or more commonly known as the ‘afternoon slump’, when combined with naturally lower energy levels. Here are some things you can do- 💊Take supplements like L-Carnitine and B-Complex. 📈 Manage your insulin levels by adopting a low glycemic index diet. 🔍Check Thyroid levels regularly. 🧲 An iron deficiency could be adding/causing low levels of energy too so check with your physician on supplementation for the same if you are deficient. So many people think losing weight will fix all their pcos problems. While losing some weight may help SOME symptoms, it is not the fix all for all things pcos. Pushing this narrative is toxic af. Instead, we should focus on establishing healthy habits that improve overall health, focus on controlling blood sugar and insulin issues, and creating habits that we can sustain for life because guess what? Do you have high cortisol? Here are 6 signs your body is trying to tell you that you’re too stressed. Chronic stress is actually one of the root causes of PCOS and I used to struggle with it too. It drove a lot of my PCOS problems especially while I was trying to lose weight!! Now, I’m down 30 lbs and I couldn’t have done it without regulating my body’s natural cortisol rhythm. Cortisol is supposed to be on a 24 hour cycle!! It should be highest in the morning when you wake up, with little spikes throughout the day as you encounter stressors and then it should tapper off at night for you to relax and go to bed. These are some common signs your cortisol is out of wack, but you can fix it by reducing evening stressors and building your resilience to stress #pcos #pcosweightloss #pcosawareness #pcosproblems #cortisol #hormoneimbalance

2023…. You were such a hard year but also the most rewarding. Some of the biggest changes this year were… ✈️ I traveled SO much. Went to 5 countries & 8 states ⚡️ Started @resilience.healthandfitness to help women & former athletes grow into their most confident self, fall back in love with working out & learn how to properly fuel their bodies. I quit my corporate full time job. I wasn’t happy & knew I was supposed to make a bigger impact than I was. 🫠 I invested in my own health and took steps to figure out my hormone & PCOS problems. I went out my comfort zone, met online friends through a business mentorship and it’s been the biggest blessing 🥹💓 In 2024, I can’t wait for growth, challenges, putting myself first, opportunity and whatever else comes my way!☺️🫶🏽
