In the early-to-mid 2010s, NASCAR Cup Series engines reached their peak performance, with naturally aspirated 358-cubic-inch (5.9L) V8s producing nearly 900 horsepower. During the 2013–2014 seasons, these engines could spin beyond 9,000 RPM, demanding immense throttle control from legends like Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Tony Stewart. NASCAR later reduced output to roughly 750hp in 2015 and 550hp in 2019 to tighten racing packs and control costs. However, in a major reversal, officials announced that horsepower is back for the 2026 season. I hear stories & myths about Crocodilians from around the world & many of them are exaggerated stories based on some truth. On TV & Social Media Crocodilians are filmed at their peak performance up close to grab attention. This sometimes causes people to conclude things about them that are physically impossible. Crocodilians (this includes Alligators) are not built for speed on land. They have very short legs that kind of stick out on the sides. This build makes it hard to move hundreds of lbs off the ground & a tail dragging behind them. They also have short bursts to move at their top speed. This also means that the “run zig zag” from an Alligator myth is just that…. A myth told to you by someone who doesn’t like you 🤷🏻‍♂️ @wildfloridairboats
