One part of the Pec deck fly a lot of people tend to overlook is setting up the movement properly. Here’s the best way to set up the Pec Deck Fly to bias the mid chest and avoid injury: 1) You want to make sure the seat height is set so that your arms are roughly 90 degrees or perpendicular with the handles. This allows you to get the best horizontal adducting arm path which is how you train the mid chest. 2) Instead of trying to rep yourself into position which usually requires you pinning the handles a little bit more forward within your range of motion, you can grab one handle at a time and use your body weight to swing the arm across in order to grab the other handle while still allowing you to set theso you can get the best stretch on the chest possible. 3) Sit at the edge of the seat and puff out the chest to better bias the chest on the movement
