Tripod Headstand Tutorial 👇👇 1. Place the heel of your hand on your forehead 2. Where your fingertips touch the tip of your head, this is your balance point, what goes on the ground (the very tip of your head!!) 3. Place your palms on the ground, making a tripod with your head and two hands 4. Ground down through your palms and fingertips, spreading the fingers (hasta bandha) 5. Walk your feet in towards you 6. Lift one leg to your elbow, then the other 7. Come into a pike position, tucking your knees into your chest 8. Slowly, send the legs to the sky 9. Keep your core engaged and knit your ribs in Voila!! You can prepare with Dolphin pose for shoulder strength and Crow pose (Bakasana) for arm stability. Warm-up first, then move step by step. 🤞 Curious how to get into this headstand? Three steps to enter your Tripod Headstand: Step 1 👉 Set your base Place your hands and head on the mat in a stable tripod shape, elbows stacked above wrists, neck neutral. Engage your core, from the kneeling position, straighten your legs and begin walking your feet towards your hands. Place your knees on the triceps (like in Bakasana). Draw the heels of the feet towards the buttocks. ✨And you can stay here if you feel like it. Step 2 👉 Draw your legs up into a tuck Using the strength of your core and shoulders, slowly lift your knees upward, bringing your thighs together. Your legs can stay tucked - this is already the full posture for many yogis! Step 3 👉 Final asana Keeping steadiness through your arms, shoulders and core, slowly begin to straighten your legs toward the ceiling. Move with control and keep your breath steady.
