Position it right!! Most people don’t have a lighting problem… They have a light positioning problem. We’re taught to stand in front of the softbox. But the best lighting result actually happens at the edge of the light. In this reel you’ll see the BTS vs final footage and notice what happens when you start positioning the light and the subject the right way and see the visuals better. Here’s what happens when you follow these steps: Softer skin Even light spread Less harsh highlights Cleaner background (no light spill) Instantly more cinematic videos Go give it a try and level up your content visuals. #lightinginspiration #behindthescene #videographers #photographytips #contentcreatorlife

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE? well let me tell you!! I shot these on the @canoncanada R6 and the 35mm F1.8 macro and the 50mm F1.8 I’ve gotten so many requests to explain the difference between the 35mm and the 50mm so here is everything you need to know ⬇️ 50mm vs 35mm isn’t about “better” it’s about what you want to say📸 50mm: background compression, cleaner frames, subject isolation 35mm: depth, environment, context, presence Cinematic isn’t a focal length, it’s intention I think of each lens like a paint brush, you wouldn’t use a water colour brush for an oil painting and vice versa. One is not better than the other, they just have different outcomes 🎨 Model: @naomi.thenutritionist Stylist: @sh4e.z @styledbysh4e.z #35mmvs50mm #photographytips #cameralens #cameratutorial #beginnerphotographer

Copy my exact Adobe Lightroom settings for this Brooklyn Bridge sunrise in Dumbo. This view of the Manhattan Bridge framed from Washington Street in Brooklyn has been photographed thousands of times - cobblestone streets, leading lines, and the Empire State Building sitting perfectly in the arch. I went at sunrise, when the light was just starting to spill across the bridge and the streets were still quiet enough to shoot clean frames. The composition already does a lot of the work - strong symmetry, depth, and natural leading lines. My goal in Lightroom wasn’t to transform the scene, just to refine it and gently guide the eye toward the bridge without losing the atmosphere of New York City street photography. Here’s the exact step-by-step breakdown: - Adjusted the tone curve - anchored the midtones, lowered the shadows, raised the highlights, slightly lifted the blacks, and pulled down the whites to balance contrast while keeping detail in the buildings. - Masked the bridge and increased contrast subtly so it separates naturally from the surrounding architecture. - Darkened the buildings and cars along the edges using local masks to keep attention centered. - Applied a luminance range mask to soften brighter highlights and control glare. - Finished with a light vignette mask to reinforce the framing and depth. My basic global adjustments - exposure, white balance, texture, clarity, and overall color grading - are shown in the video as the final step so you can see the full workflow from start to finish. If you shoot in NYC or love architectural and street photography, save this and test these masking settings on your own photo. #madewithlightroom #photographytips #photoediting #artofvisuals #lightroom

Here’s what I personally consider a waste of money from real experience 👇 📸Kit lenses: you’re better off buying the camera body and investing in a good lens (used or even a different brand) 📸Tilt-shift lens: fun to play with, but barely used in real work 📸No-name third-party batteries: unreliable and risky on paid shoots. It happened to me at least couple of times when I had fully-charged off-brand batteries that didn’t work on a photoshoot! 📸HDD instead of SSD: slow workflow and higher risk of corrupted files. My Lacie HDD constantly disconnecting from my laptop and it’s impossible to drop files on it anymore! Ever wonder why some of your photos look sharp and others feel a little soft? 📸✨ If you’re a photographer shooting newborns, families, or portraits, this is one camera setting that can completely change your results. It’s called back button focus, and it gives you more control over your autofocus and focus tracking — especially when you’re working with moving babies and kids. By separating focus from the shutter button, you can: ✔️ Lock focus on the eyes ✔️ Use Eye AF and Face Detection more effectively ✔️ Avoid focus hunting ✔️ Improve photo sharpness ✔️ Get more consistent images in-camera This is one of my go-to photography tips for Canon shooters and portrait photographers who want fewer missed shots and better workflow. Make sure to like and Save if you want to see more! Try it at your next session 💛 Follow for more newborn photography tips and camera settings tutorials.

Picture Style → Standard Most photographers leave it on Auto… and then wonder why their previews look overly warm, too contrasty, or totally different from shot to shot. Switch it to Standard instead. Even if you shoot RAW, this helps your LCD + histogram stay accurate so your photos look consistent all day — especially when lighting changes constantly at weddings. Small tweak, big difference. ✨ Quick breakdown of the others: - Auto: inconsistent, changes scene by scene - Standard: vibrant, true “Canon color” - Portrait: warmer + flattering for skin (also a great option) - Neutral/Faithful: flat look, best for editing - Landscape: punchy greens + blues - Monochrome: black + white preview (Heads up.. if you shoot RAW, Picture Style only affects your preview — not the actual file — but it helps you gauge tone + exposure more accurately in the moment) #photographerlife #photographytips #weddingphotographer #stlweddingphotographer #stlouisweddingphotographer
