DX@pincode.uae is @chefkunal ‘s restaurant that’s basically his love letter to India’s food scene. The whole idea is inspired by pin codes, since every pin code in India has its own food story and flavors, and that’s exactly what the menu tries to capture. It’s not overly fancy or intimidating…more like a modern, stylish space with warm vibes where you can chill and enjoy good food. The menu mixes street-style fun with proper hearty dishes. During Navratri, Pincode by Kunal Kapur puts together a special fasting-friendly thali that’s both festive and indulgent. Instead of the usual heavy Indian fare, the menu sticks to traditional Navaratri rules…no onion, no garlic, light ingredients…but still manages to be super flavorful. You’ll find things like kuttu puri, sabudana vada with falahari chutney, vrat-style idlis, samak rice pulao, and veggie dishes like aloo ki kadhi and pethe ki sabzi. And of course, they don’t skip dessert…think sabudana kheer and makhane ki kheer to end on a sweet note!
It’s like, who would’ve thought Navratri food could actually taste this good? You’d expect it to feel a little plain without the usual Indian staples like onion, garlic, and all the heavy masalas, but at Pincode they flip that idea completely. This food is proof that even with “fasting rules,” the food can be exciting, creative, and honestly just as indulgent. It kind of makes you forget that anything’s missing at all.
