MOI need help picking fabrics…and I know you all have opinions! 😜 I’m about to start cutting for my next quilt pattern (I’m sooooo excited about this one!) and I can’t decide on which background…solid ivory or a speckled ivory? AND which accent color? Dot chambray or rainbow chambray? I’m not good with making decisions and because of that, allllll of those little florals are probably going to make their way into the quilt. The more the merrier, right?! I’m already getting all the feels from the vintage vibe this version of the pattern has!

MA🧵 PATCHWORK ADDICT ‼️🙈
J’ai commencé ce patchwork sans même savoir ce que j’allais faire dedans 🤪 et puis ça fait un moment que j’ai besoin d’une jolie housse d’ordi, mon morceau faisait pile poile la bonne taille, c’était un signe du destin ! 💻
Je suis trop contente de ma housse ! 🧡
❓Voici quelques tips pour un patchwork réussi 🥰
✨ Ne pas trop réfléchir aux assemblages de couleurs et d’imprimés, c’est ce qui fait la magie du patchwork !
✨ Varier la taille des morceaux de tissu. Par exemple, je fais une première parcelle avec des morceaux de 5cm par 12cm puis une deuxième de 3,5cm x 14cm… encore une fois, ne réfléchissez pas trop ! Pour ma part je travail en parcelle car j’adore les rayures, mais vous pouvez directement travailler avec des gros morceaux de tissu !
✨ Plus vos morceaux de patchwork seront gros, moins de temps et moins d’énergie votre patchwork vous prendra ! Alors si vous êtes débutants, commencez par un projet pas trop ambitieux avec de beaux morceaux de tissu !
✨La règle d’or pour les assemblages, c’est la même que pour la couture : toujours endroit contre endroit, et pas besoin de prendre des grosses marges de couture, 0,5 cm soit la largeur de votre pied presseur, c’est amplement suffisant ! 🧡
✨ Réglez votre machine avec un petit point, car vous allez sans doute raboter vos pièces de patchwork et donc couper des points d’arrêt. Un petit point se décousera moins facilement qu’un grand point.
✨ Ouvrez vos coutures si vos tissus sont bien épais, sinon couchez les du côté du tissu le plus foncé ou le plus épais, ça évitera d’apercevoir votre tissu noirs sous un tissu blanc. Et pour bien coucher une couture, on l’ouvre au préalable ! 🥰
✨ Pour le matelassage, si vous êtes sûr familiale, privilégiez une ouatine pas trop épaisse et surtout, ne tirez pas sur votre ouvrage au moment de le coudre, laissez le filer naturellement sous votre machine, les griffes de celle-ci devrait parfaitement l’accompagner ☺️
