My son used to complain about phonics… now he asks to start his day with it. As a former kindergarten teacher, I love when learning is structured but playful enough for a 5-year-old. Homeschool parents…what phonics program do you love?

I was tired of the worksheets, the frustration, and the “I don’t get it” tears. So we switched to hands-on learning — and suddenly reading started to click. ✅ Word families ✅ Blending sounds ✅ Builds confidence ✅ Feels like play, not school If you’re teaching your little one to read… this might be the tool you didn’t know you needed. I linked it for you 🤍 #homeschoolmom #teachyourkidstoread #phonicshelp #phonicsfun #earlyreading

If your child can clap syllables, they’re building one of the most important pre-reading skills there is. Reading doesn’t start with books. It starts with hearing the parts in words. Ta-ble. Ap-ple. Bas-ket. This is phonological awareness, and it’s one of the strongest predictors of future reading success. No worksheets. No pressure. Just playful sound work that actually matters. This is exactly why my story boxes are built around hands-on sound play instead of busy work. Strong readers begin at home. #kindergartenreadiness #preschoollearning #phonologicalawareness #learnthroughplay #earlyliteracy momlife homeschoolmom raisingreaders scienceofreading phonics

If your child knows their letters and sounds, this is your next step! Learning to read, one step at a time! It’s time to start blending. Start with two sounds. It’s easier for children to hear those first words as they blend. Try words like: a-t → at i-t → it You can blend in two simple ways: 1. Say the sounds, then blend a… t → at 2. Stretch the first sound (continuous blending) aaa-t → at Some children will find stretching the sounds makes it easier to hear and remember the first sounds in 3 and 4+ sound words. Start with just two sounds and make that lightbulb moment happen faster. 💖 Comment BLEND and I’ll send you some great first words to practice. #learntoread #homeschool #kindergarten #phonics #momsofinstagram
