SHTe voy a contar la verdad sobre la transmisión DPS6 (Ford PowerShift).
Ford lanzó la DPS6 con una idea ambiciosa:
👉 tener la rapidez de una doble embrague pero manteniendo principios de caja manual.
🔧 No es una automática convencional: es una transmisión automatizada de doble
embrague de disco seco.
Funciona con dos embragues:
✔ uno para marchas pares
✔ otro para marchas impares
Por eso, siempre hay dos marchas preseleccionadas.
🧠 Todo el sistema es управado por dos actuadores eléctricos y un módulo llamado TCM.
💥 En teoría era brillante… pero con el uso empezaron los problemas.
Los principales defectos estaban en:
🔴 el conjunto de embrague doble
🔴 las horquillas de desembrague
🔴 fallas en el módulo TCM
🔴 y en algunos casos, daños en rodamientos y engranajes.
📉 La falla fue tan grande que derivó en:
⚠ extensiones de garantía
⚠ cambios completos de transmisión
⚠ y hasta demandas colectivas en todo el mundo.
Finalmente, Ford abandonó esta tecnología en 2018.
🚗 Esta caja se utilizó principalmente en:
• Ford Focus
• Ford Fiesta
• Ford Ecosport
⛔ Importante: al ser doble embrague de disco seco, el conjunto trabaja fuera del aceite, lo
que genera más desgaste y temperatura, y ahí empiezan los dolores de cabeza.
✅ Si tenés alguno de estos modelos, lo clave es diagnosticar a tiempo para evitar roturas
mayores y gastos innecesarios.
