Dimitri Klokov snatching barefoot isn’t just a party trick. It’s an expression. Is there something to it? Yes — if you use it the right way. Barefoot lifting exaggerates positions. If you can squat, receive, and stabilize without shoes, your lifts with shoes almost always feel better. The goal isn’t to replace weightlifting shoes — it’s to use exaggeration as feedback. Start simple: • barefoot squat warm-ups • goblet squats or supported squat holds • 2–3 lighter warm-up sets before putting shoes on As that improves, you can layer it into things like: • light back squats • power snatch + overhead squat Clean things up barefoot… then put your shoes on and put it together.
