Yale physics professor Ramamurti Shankar is known for making difficult subjects, including quantum mechanics, easier to understand. His approach focuses on clarity rather than presentation. He starts from basic principles, defines terms carefully, and builds ideas step by step before moving to advanced concepts. This method is reflected in his Open Yale Courses lecture series, which has been widely used by students and self-learners worldwide. The lectures emphasize logical structure and gradual progression, helping viewers follow topics that are often considered inaccessible. His work shows that for complex subjects, clear organization and precise explanations can matter more than simplified shortcuts. Credit: https://m.youtube.com/@YaleCourses

The history of #photography began with the discovery of two critical principles: The first is camera obscura image projection, the second is the discovery that some substances are visibly altered by exposure to light[2]. There are no artifacts or descriptions that indicate any attempt to capture images with light sensitive materials prior to the 18th century. View from the Window at Le Gras 1826 or 1827, believed to be the earliest surviving camera photograph.[1] Original (left) and colorized reoriented enhancement (right). Around 1717, Johann Heinrich Schulze used a light-sensitive slurry to capture images of cut-out letters on a bottle. However, he did not pursue making these results permanent. Around 1800, Thomas Wedgwood made the first reliably documented, although unsuccessful attempt at capturing camera images in permanent form. His experiments did produce detailed photograms, but Wedgwood and his associate Humphry Davy found no way to fix these images. In 1826, Nicéphore Niépce first managed to fix an image that was captured with a camera, but at least eight hours or even several days of exposure in the camera were required and the earliest results were very crude. Niépce's associate Louis Daguerre went on to develop the daguerreotype process, the first publicly announced and commercially viable photographic process. The daguerreotype required only minutes of exposure in the camera, and produced clear, finely detailed results. On August 2, 1839 Daguerre demonstrated the details of the process to the Chamber of Peers in Paris. On August 19 the technical details were made public in a meeting of the Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Fine Arts in the Palace of Institute. (For granting the rights of the inventions to the public, Daguerre and Niépce were awarded generous annuities for life.)[3][4][5] When the metal based daguerreotype process was demonstrated formally to the public, the competitor approach of paper-based calotype negative and salt print processes invented by William Henry Fox Talbot was already demonstrated in London (but with less publicity).[5] Subsequent innovations made photography easier and more versatile.

This demonstration is a practical illustration of fluid mechanics and buoyant equilibrium, where the observable behavior of an object immersed in a liquid is governed by fundamental physical principles rather than visual intuition. When the peeled orange is introduced into the aqueous medium, its average density exceeds that of the surrounding fluid, resulting in a net downward gravitational force that causes it to sink. In contrast, the unpeeled orange remains afloat due to the presence of microscopic air pockets within the peel, which significantly reduce the system’s effective density. This phenomenon is a direct consequence of Archimedes’ Principle, which states that an object submerged in a fluid experiences an upward buoyant force equal to the weight of the displaced fluid. The balance between buoyant force, gravitational acceleration, and mass distribution determines whether the object undergoes flotation or submersion. Such experiments provide a simplified yet powerful insight into hydrostatic pressure variation, volume displacement, and force equilibrium conditions. Beyond its simplicity, this experiment highlights the importance of conceptual clarity, empirical observation, and theoretical validation in physics. True understanding is not merely about memorizing formulas, but about recognizing how fundamental laws manifest in everyday phenomena through systematic experiment . . #viral #fyp #reels #trendingreels #explorepage

Some ideas don’t land instantly. They need time to sit with you. This reel brings together different perspectives — not to overwhelm, but to show how the same principles keep appearing in different forms: how you think, how you respond, how you stay consistent when motivation isn’t there. Not every quote here will hit. But one of them probably will — and that’s enough. Growth rarely comes from one big realization. It comes from hearing the same truth, from different angles, at the right moment. Save it. Revisit it. Let it work quietly. 🎥 Perfect Days is such a beautiful movie that captures the deepest principles of Japanese wellness: presence, ritual, gratitude, and harmony with life. At its heart, the film shows that health doesn’t come from chasing more, but from living in rhythm with what is. 🌿 Core Japanese wellness principles from the film: 1. Ritual creates regulation Hirayama’s days are repetitive waking up, cleaning, watering plants, listening to cassette tapes. To Western society it might feel monotonous but in Japan it’s ikigai: a life anchored by meaningful, steady rituals. These routines calm the nervous system, lower cortisol, and give the body a sense of safety, the foundation of all healing. 2. Presence heals the body. Hirayama rarely speaks, yet he is deeply alive noticing sunlight through leaves, the sound of music. It all encompasses mindfulness, a cornerstone of Japanese wellness. When we live in the present, the brain exits fight-or-flight and the body enters repair mode. 3. Simplicity reduces inflammation. Japanese culture values wabi-sabi, the beauty of what is simple, imperfect, and real. Less stimulation is less stress and more balance in the nervous and hormonal systems. 4. Nature is medicine (Shinrin-yoku). The film constantly frames trees, sky, and light. forest bathing is a Japanese practice proven to lower blood pressure, calm the nervous system, and boost immunity. Even in the city, nature remains a healer and is prescribed by doctors in Japan. 5. Gratitude is a physiological state. In Japanese wellness, gratitude is something you feel in the body. Hirayama’s quiet appreciation for small moments keeps him emotionally and biologically regulated. Gratitude activates the parasympathetic nervous system, the state where digestion, repair, and longevity happen. My hope for 2026 is that we can all adopt some of these practices - to slow down, create rituals, notice the beauty around us. our nervous systems will thank us 🤗 More of this in 2026 ❤️ hope everyone has a great new year ! . . . . . #wellness #japan #gratitude #japanese #mindfulness

Is U.S. Intervention in Iran Still Justified? 🇮🇷🇺🇸 Speaking on May 9, 2019, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk addressed the escalating ideological battles taking place on American university campuses. He outlined his organization's mission to educate students on the principles of free-market economics, the U.S. Constitution, and the concept of American exceptionalism. In his remarks, Kirk pushed back against his critics, suggesting that accusations of provocation were part of a deliberate campaign by the left to tarnish his reputation. He advocated for self-reliance, traditional religious values, and a rejection of what he termed a "victimhood mentality." Meanwhile, as these cultural clashes dominated domestic discourse, the scale of America's global military presence remained vast. The U.S. Navy’s fleet of 11 nuclear-powered aircraft carriers—each capable of deploying roughly 60 aircraft—alongside an Air Force with more than 5,000 planes stationed around the world, served as a stark reminder of the nation’s formidable power projection capabilities. Structural Ingenuity: The Art of Wood Crack Repair! 🛠️✨ Observe the clever and highly effective application of Mechanical Tension and Fastening to repair a structural split in timber! This is a prime example of how simple physical principles—like leverage and tensile strength—can be used to restore the integrity of wood components without the need for complex machinery. The Art of Material Restoration This process is a masterclass in utilizing mechanical advantage to overcome material displacement: The Setup: A wooden plank with a significant longitudinal crack is prepared for repair. The challenge in woodworking is to close such gaps with enough force to allow adhesives or fasteners to hold the structure permanently. Mechanical Leverage (0:01 - 0:03): The operator uses a "Spanish Windlass" technique—a simple rope and lever system. By twisting the rope with a wooden bar, the operator generates immense compressive force. In engineering, this is a classic application of Torque, which pulls the separated wood fibers back together with precision. Tension Fastening (0:04 - 0:13): Once the crack is closed, the operator utilizes steel wire and nails to create a "permanent clamp." By wrapping the wire around strategically placed nails and twisting it, a high-tension bond is created. This ensures the wood remains compressed even after the external lever is removed. Structural Integrity: Notice how the wire is "stitched" across the crack. This effectively acts as a structural tendon, distributing the load across the sound sections of the timber and preventing the crack from propagating further under stress. The Final Result: A perfectly closed and reinforced plank, restored to its original functional width. It’s a flawless display of how understanding the mechanical properties of materials and simple tools can solve even the toughest workshop challenges! Engineering for Practicality From the calculation of the torque applied by the rope to the tensile capacity of the steel wire, this repair is a testament to the "work smarter" philosophy. It’s all about the perfect structural bond!
