Let me explain 👇🏽 If you’re trying to grow your glutes, the way you sit during hip abductions actually matters. ✅ Sitting upright → generally a balanced activation across the glutes, but mainly glute medius and upper glute maximus. ✅ Leaning slightly forward (hinging at the hips) → increases focus on glute maximus. You can usually push heavier and really drive with the big part of your glutes. ✅ Leaning back → this can shift more tension toward the glute medius and upper glutes, but it’s slightly less stable and less optimal for heavy loading.
