PRQuetzalcoatlus was one of the largest flying animals ever discovered. Living around 68–66 million years ago in what is now Texas, it had a wingspan of up to 12 meters. Despite its size, it could likely launch itself into the air using all four limbs. On land, it probably walked like a stork or giraffe and hunted small animals using its long, spear-like beak. Quetzalcoatlus wasn’t a dinosaur, but a giant flying reptile that ruled the skies at the very end of the Age of Dinosaurs. 🦅🦖

ZOQuetzalcoatlus ve Hatzegopteryx, Mesozoik Dönem'in uçan sürüngenlerinin en büyükleridir.
Quetzalcoatlus'un kanat açıklığı, 13 metre ile bir F-16 uçağından daha büyüktür. Dört ayak üstünde 6 metreyi bulabilen boylarıyla ortalama bir zürafadan daha uzundurlar.
Günümüzdeki Romanya sınırları içinde kalan Hatzeg Adası'nda yaşayan dinozor türleri, ada ortamından dolayı yeterince gelişememiş ve imkan eklikliği yüzünden çüce kalmıştır.
Hatzeg'deki soropodlar, burundan kuyruğa 6 metreyi anca bulabiliyordu. Adını bu adadan alan Hatzegopteryx ise bu dinozorları avlayıp tek başına yiyordu.
Bu uçan sürüngenler günümüzde yaşasaydı, yetişkin bir atı tüm yutabilirlerdi.

PRQuetzalcoatlus (Quetzalcoatlus northropi), around 70–66 million years ago in what is now North America, primarily in present-day Texas.
While Quetzalcoatlus was a master of the skies, recent biomechanical studies have revealed it was equally formidable on the ground. Unlike modern birds, this azhdarchid pterosaur was a quadrupedal walker, folding its massive wings to use its “finger” joints as front feet. Its long limbs allowed for an efficient, stalking gait similar to a modern giraffe, enabling it to cover vast distances across the Cretaceous floodplains. This upright posture gave it a high vantage point to spot small dinosaurs and mammals, which it would snatch up with its spear-like beak in a behavior known as terrestrial stalking.
