It’s not a trick. It’s not science fiction. It’s quantum physics in action.
But what exactly is going on?

Answer:
You’re watching quantum levitation, also known as quantum locking.
The black disk is a high-temperature superconductor, pre-cooled in liquid nitrogen (~77 K). Once it reaches its critical temperature, it enters a unique quantum state with two key effects:
1. Meissner Effect – the superconductor expels all magnetic fields from inside, acting as a perfect diamagnet. This causes levitation over magnets.
2. Quantum Locking – in non-uniform magnetic fields, some magnetic flux lines penetrate the superconductor as quantized vortices. These vortices get pinned in the material’s structure, locking the object in a fixed height and orientation.
This is why the disk hovers without moving or can glide frictionlessly along a magnetic track.
This is not repulsion — it’s a quantum interaction between magnetic flux and superconducting domains.
