HE@taradikhof - as a queer man myself I must admit in feeling a bit uncomfortable actually in parties where it’s entirely male dominated. I have seen trans, Nonbinary, lesbians etc all be made in feel unwelcome in certain spaces that are marked as “queer” or “lgbtq”. Obviously, HST has a lot of straight people as well as queer people attending too. We’re more of an inclusive party than a specifically queer night even though 3/4 of the core team are queer but these words really resonated with me. I think we actually get a lot of people coming to HST from all across the queer community for exactly this reason. Let’s work hard to get the misogyny, transphobia, racism, biphobia, body racism etc out of “queer” spaces so they can actually be queer spaces.

And remember gay guys if was often lesbians who cared and advocated for us during the AIDS crisis, it was black trans women who stood up at Stonewall and many more instances without the LBTQIA part the G wouldn’t enjoy many of the freedoms we enjoy today.
