73 billion litres!!! ⚠️ That’s how much sewage India produces daily. Only 28% of it is treated. The rest? Flows directly into rivers like the Yamuna. That’s why Pankaj Kumar quit his job. Now, every Sunday, his team Earth Warrior cleans the Kalindi Kunj Ghat—one of the Yamuna’s most polluted stretches. They don’t just clean—they file legal cases, audit sewage plants, and demand accountability. 👏 Let’s support heroes like Pankaj by doing our bit. Switch to eco-friendly cleaners. Don’t dump in drains. Speak up. @earthworri #CleanYamuna #EarthWarrior #RiverPollution #SaveOurRivers #EcoWarrior #WaterIsLife #SewageCrisis [River pollution India, Yamuna river cleanup, Earth Warrior initiative, Pankaj Kumar, Environmentalist, Green Heroes of India]

video circulating on social media shows Shankaracharya pouring milk into a river as part of a religious ritual. Supporters describe it as a symbolic offering rooted in Hindu traditions, where rivers are revered as sacred Critics argue that pouring milk into rivers amounts to food wastage, especially in a country where many face malnutrition. Environmentalists raised concerns about river pollution, stating that organic waste can harm aquatic life and water quality. Supporters say the quantity is symbolic and part of long-standing tradition, urging respect for religious sentiments. . . #civicsense #river #foodwaste #baba

The video captures a compelling and poignant effort to address the issue of river pollution in India. It highlights the persistent problem of people throwing trash from bridges into rivers, despite government measures like installing dustbins and protective nets. The video showcases a dedicated group of volunteers who tirelessly clean up the riverbeds, emphasizing their collective responsibility to protect and restore India's water bodies. The narrative shifts from initial frustration to a powerful call for action, urging viewers to stop littering and spread awareness. The visual contrast between polluted and cleaned sections of the river, along with the volunteers' commitment, serves as a strong reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship. @earthworri ( River pollution India, Yamuna river cleanup, Earth Warrior initiative, Pankaj Kumar, Environmentalist, Green Heroes of India )

This is the civic sense we’re normalising. People washing containers and dumping waste directly into The Narmada River — one of India’s holiest rivers. 🙏 Faith is sacred. 🚯 Pollution is not devotion. The same river we worship is being choked by plastic, waste, and untreated water — all in the name of rituals. According to environmental reports, over 70% of river pollution in India is caused by domestic waste and religious activities, not industries alone. If faith doesn’t come with responsibility, it becomes destruction. #SaveNarmada #CivicSense #WaterPollution #FaithAndResponsibility #CleanRivers IndiaNeedsChange EnvironmentalAwareness

🚨🤮 Poison = 400M Tons 😢in Our Rivers 🌊😡 | Still Scrolling? 🛑 Every year, nearly 400 million tons of waste end up in our rivers. 🌊🤮 Plastic pollution, industrial discharge, sewage dumping, and chemical waste are turning life-giving water into poison. 😡 Rivers support aquatic life, biodiversity, and play a crucial role in the global oxygen cycle. 🫁 When we pollute rivers, we damage ecosystems, contaminate drinking water, and risk our own future. 🚨 This video exposes: ✔ River pollution crisis ✔ Plastic waste in rivers ✔ Toxic water and aquatic life damage ✔ Human impact on environment ✔ How to save rivers and stop pollution It’s not just about dirty water. It’s about survival. 🌍 #SaveRivers #RiverPollution #StopPollution #ToxicWater #kind2earth #toxic

A viral video showing people pouring nearly 165 litres of ghee into the River Ganga has sparked massive debate across social media. The act was reportedly performed as a religious offering, but the scale shocked many viewers. Experts point out that such a large amount of ghee introduces excessive fats and organic matter into the river. This can increase bacterial activity, reduce dissolved oxygen levels, and harm fish and aquatic ecosystems. While the intent may be devotional, environmentalists warn that repeated acts like this can worsen river pollution. The incident has reopened the conversation on balancing faith with environmental responsibility.

Italy has developed a plant that cleans polluted rivers by consuming microplastics. In a greenhouse near Florence, Italian botanists have cultivated a plant that acts like a natural vacuum cleaner for contaminated water. It doesn’t just filter — it absorbs microplastics and heavy metals through its roots, stores them in its plant tissue, and in doing so helps purify rivers. The plant is called Pistia Magnifica and is a genetically optimized variety of water lettuce. Its roots contain special enzymes with a modified lignin structure that bind to plastics such as polyethylene and polystyrene — the most common microplastic particles. As river water flows past, the plant captures the particles and draws them into its vascular system. Laboratory tests show that one square meter of Pistia Magnifica can remove up to 92% of microplastics from 100 liters of river water in less than an hour. The absorbed pollutants remain stored in the plant and can later be harvested and safely incinerated — even generating usable heat energy in the process. Unlike conventional purification systems, this green solution requires no machines, electricity, or infrastructure. It floats on the water’s surface, grows quickly, and reproduces on its own. In Italy, it is already being used in canals, lakes, and irrigation ditches — particularly in industrial areas with high plastic runoff. Environmentalists call it a “living cleanup crew” that could help restore biodiversity in polluted waters worldwide. The UN is already reviewing the method as a potential solution for developing countries where river pollution is severe. Italy may have found a way to turn some of the dirtiest waters in the world back into clean water — using nothing but sunlight and leaves. #Italy #PistiaMagnifica

🚨 A video circulating on social media shows a man collecting trash from a riverbank and then throwing the same waste back into the river, drawing criticism online. The clip, widely shared by users, appears to show the individual gathering garbage from the edge of the river before discarding it into the water instead of properly disposing of it. The incident has sparked debate about public awareness and responsibility toward protecting rivers and the environment. Environmental concerns around river pollution and improper waste disposal continue to be a major issue, with activists urging stronger civic responsibility and proper waste management practices.
