Welcome to the story of my life: little to no resources for making plus size clothes because most of the info out there caters to straight sizes 😪 This is my first time attempting to sew a Filipiniana Terno sleeve, traditional formalwear from the Philippines. Idk why it took me this long to try it. I never thought of incorporating it into my designs until now, and only because one of my brides requested it 🙃 I’m always up for a sewing challenge, plus I rarely see terno sleeves in plus sizes. It’s technically still summer! ☀️😄 • I bought a pattern - because I didn’t have a protractor to draw the circle but in retrospect, I could have just used a bowl and traced it 🤦🏻‍♀️ In any case, this is a fairly easy project and a fun version of a drawstring bag. It’s too easy to make excuses but realistically it’s what I WANT to make time for, so, I started a mini challenge. It can be as big or small as you want it to be, the important thing here is to commit. Here are some easy ideas to get started: • learn to embroider by hand • hem your pants/tees • thrift flip • tailoring basics We’ll all be in the chat together, chopping it up, checking in on each other and staying crafty🫡 The first show-and-tell is gonna be Tuesday, Oct 15th.
