ALI made this yesterday when I woke up. Sleep and uber the weather but the sun was shining.
Excited to be back home but also feeling a little sad to leave my friends behind who I’ve grown even closer to. I’ll take their spirit and inspiration with me while I start to rebuild a new path and life moving forward.
I’m excited to stay watering and sprouting these seeds I’ve been harvesting. I’ve never written so much in my life, I have so many photographs and film footage to edit. Just so many thoughts and I’m grateful to everyone who’s helped me along this way.
I’ve barely shown much as I’ve saved a bunch of it for articles and other projects but I can’t wait to start going through and making some updates here and on substack - which I haven’t posted to yet but will, I promise.
It’s 3am and I just leave the axe shop. Time for a 2.5k walk to the train station with my heavy suitcases. Then I’m off to fly away. I’m going to miss Sweden and the family I have here now. ❤️🪓
I’ve already started planing a trip back even before I got here. I guess that’s the way it’s going to be as I can’t get enough of the place.

KEWhat if craft skills were considered an inheritance worth taking note of? I’ve had this thought bumbling around in my head for a while. My maternal grandparents were city kids, eager craftsmen who bought a farm and were rich in initiative, albeit not money. All items that could be handmade were handmade in their household and I’d like to believe that their mindset of craftiness and eagerness to try their hands at new things are a trait that has been passed on to me through my mother, along with many tools and materials that I cherish using my own life as a craftsperson unfolds.
I truly believe that I wouldn’t be the person I am and at the place I am if it weren’t for them, and sometimes I believe I’m carrying on their legacy. Sometimes I think ”Blah, I’m just making stuff. Its not that big of a deal”.
