MYMy kids were both completely into this… which basically never happens at the same time 😂
We made the prettiest little spring flowers and it was so simple:
How to make them:
• Flatten 2–3 coffee filters
• Color with washable markers (don’t hold back on the color!)
• Lightly spray with water and let the magic happen
• Allow to dry overnight
• Pinch in the middle
• Wrap a green pipe cleaner around and fluff/style
My 5-year-old loved watching the colors blend, and my 2-year-old just went to town with the markers — both totally happy.
Easy setup. Cheap supplies. Actually holds their attention.
That’s a mom win in my book 💛

IDColores que caminan en un árbol 🌈
Un experimento fácil y sorprendente.
Pasos:
Pinta en una servitoalla con marcadores permanentes un árbol y flores.
Colorea las flores con marcadores de agua.
Pinta en el tronco del árbol una línea de colores con marcadores de agua.
Recorta la servitoalla , deja un rectángulo en la parte de abajo.
Dobla el rectángulo.
Coloca una botella de plástico con un poco de agua cerrada sobre el rectángulo y pega el árbol con cinta adhesiva a la botella.
De esta forma el árbol queda parado.
En un plato con agua coloca el árbol
Los colores comienzan a subir.
¿Sabes por qué sucede ?
El color sube por debido a un fenómeno físico llamado capilaridad.
El vídeo está en cámara rápida, los colores comienzan a subir rápido , pero entre mas suben más tiempo tarda , para que lleguen hasta arriba tarda como una hora aproximadamente, si quieres que no tarde tanto haz un árbol mas pequeño y las figuras con marcadores lavables mas grandes.
Cuando parezca que el color no sube descubrí que si agregas mas agua al plato los colores se "activan ".🌈

OUThese bird feeders are seriously cute and simple!!
Learn from our mistake and when they are set take them out of the mould so that the grains don’t start to shoot 🤣🤣
However these are still so adorable and so so cool! The kids loved watching the birds come in not long after we hung them to check them out.
The recipe:
6 tsp gelatin powder
3/4 cup boiling water
3 cups bird seed
Mix the gelatin and boiling water until dissolved. Stir in bird seed.
Spoon into silicon molds until half full.
Lay a loop of string in the middle big enough to use to hang the feeder when finished.
Fill the rest of the mold and place in the fridge until set.
Being gelatin these are not made for hot summer days but they are perfect for the mild autumn and spring weather!

MAAs a toddler mom, I’m always looking for simple activities we can do together without spending hours preparing materials. I love using Wunderkiddy printables because they make learning through play so easy.
In this video we tried 3 fun spring activities:
🌸 Flashlight game “Who is hiding?” - glue two printed sheets together (a bush on top and an animal underneath), cut them out, and shine a flashlight to discover the hidden animal. You can also add small animal figurines for matching.
🌼 Hidden picture sensory game - place a printable with colorful pictures on the table and put a transparent tray with colored water on top. The child moves a clear cup over the tray to find the pictures and matches them with the silhouettes on another sheet.
🌸 Blooming flower learning game – write a letter or number inside the flower, fold the petals, and spray with water. As the flower opens, the child discovers the hidden letter or number.

OUThis was so easy to make and I already had all the supplies I needed.
You could also dye the pasta with food coloring and a dash of vinegar if you want to keep it taste safe.
