Still light af but at least it’s something… can we appreciate the depth though 🫦 Mobility has helped so much and I love how free my body feels during a squat now compared to before. Noticed any of these? ⬇️✨ 1. You’re squatting the weight down rather than hinging by bending your knees throughout the movement. This can cause the load to shift towards the quads. A slight knee bend should be driven by the hips. 2. Your back is rounding. This is usually because the weight is too heavy for your hamstring and glutes capability. Be careful of this as it can put strain on your spine. 3. The bar is drifting away from your legs. The further away from your body the more it’ll put stress on your lower back. 4. You feel pain in your back. Sharp pain and discomfort in the lower back is a strong indicator of bad form or poor bracing. 5. It feels harder to lift the weight back up than lower it. This usually means you’ve lost tension at the key part of the exercise. RDLS train the glutes and hamstrings in their lengthened position. One of the most common mistakes I see in a low bar squat is the rack position on the back. Most people will let the bar sit in their hands vs on their back. This can cause some wrist discomfort/pain due to the load extending the wrists. The bar will most likely also be rolling around on your back. Here are a few tips to get you into a more stable position without wrist pain. Fun fact: This is not a comfortable position to get into if you’ve never done it before. It will start to feel more comfortable the more you practice!
