Our core’s main job isn’t to give you a six-pack… it’s to stabilize the spine and transfer force between your upper and lower body. —That means resisting unwanted motion and controlling rotation. If you only train your core with crunches, sit-ups, or static planks, you’re missing one of the most important functions: ROTATIONAL STABILITY!! Here’s why it matters: * The spine is designed to move in multiple planes, but too much uncontrolled rotation or extension = stress on discs, joints, and ligaments. * The anterior and posterior oblique slings (muscles that connect the shoulder to the opposite hip) stabilize the pelvis and spine during BOTH athletic and everyday movement. * Training these slings with rotational core work builds resilience against low back pain, improves posture, and makes every lift or movement more efficient. -Start integrating rotation, stability, and movement together.

Movements like Copenhagens & Farmer marches are always in the rotation for the multiple benefits (core, hip, inner thigh & grip strength) but I’ve been adding in some anti rotational movements like bear pull through & really working on keeping my hips from swaying while my arms move. Here are 3 simple exercises that help improve stability more effectively than static balance training: 1️⃣ March with Opposite Arm Reach: 30 seconds. 2️⃣ Side Step + Flyes: 10 each way. 3️⃣ March + Pause + Hold: 30 seconds.
