GASprout is Fauna Robotics’ small, developer-focused humanoid robot built to work safely around people in real-world spaces like labs, schools, offices, retail, and entertainment venues. It’s designed less like a shrunken factory robot and more like a “human-environment” platform: lightweight, padded/soft on the outside, and engineered to reduce impact risk with compliant control and limited joint torques.
What makes Sprout interesting is the “full-stack” approach. Fauna positions it as a ready-to-build-on system where core capabilities—movement, perception, navigation, and social expression—work out of the box, so teams can spend time on applications instead of rebuilding fundamentals.
Sprout also leans into interaction: it can be directed via voice, has expressive features (like articulated eyebrows and LED facial elements), and supports things like whole-body control, grippers for manipulation, and even VR-based teleoperation within a unified hardware-software stack.
Pricing reported at launch is about $50,000, targeting researchers, universities, and builders who want a capable humanoid platform without starting from scratch.
