The story behind the dress 💃🏽 Throwing it back to my gala dinner about a month ago with a black tie dress code.  Embracing alterations is one way to make items fit on my body better but also to expand my options If I'm not finding exactly what I am looking for off the rack.  So I thought I'd share my experience as I don't have any sewing skills and rely on professionals which can feel daunting and expensive. This was the biggest alterations job I have undertaken so far, mainly as I was starting from a dress that was way too big and had to be taken in plus we were removing the sleeve. The turnaround time for this was 2 weeks.  The cost for this was $85 which was very reasonable and as I had bought the dress for an absolute bargain $50 on sale, the total of $135 was less than a brand new dress could have cost for such a fancy occasion.  And I love the dress so much, I will gladly wear it again if I have a formal occasion so can easily bring down the overall cost per wear.  Dress is the Livorno Midi Dress from St Frock. The red is no longer available but comes in seven different colours. I would love to know, do you have your pieces altered and which ones?
