What's the deal with using small hand weights in Pilates classes? 🤔 We're training the body to have stronger stabilizing muscles by increasing the load slightly while doing repetitive movements. Classic strength training programs (with heavier weights) are still important, and one approach doesn't replace the other. I like to think of it as: 🪶 light hand weights in Pilates help strengthen stabilizing muscles (often overlooked in standard strength training programs). 🏋🏻‍♂️standard strength training programs give us the "oomph" we need for more explosive movements. #beginnerpilates #pilateseducation #pilatesprops #pilatesinstructor #pilatesbenefits
