NAStop ❌ making this mistake in React Styled Components.
When passing in props into styled components, you might have noticed that you get DOM errors.
This is because your props that you pass into styled component are actually being rendered on the DOM.
AND THATS NO GOOD! 😮
Imagine you a html element has a active attribute like this 👇
<a href=“” active=“true”>Link</a>
This makes sense because active does not exist on a tag. So you get all these errors.
So to fix it, use transient props. Basically just replace your prop with $prop and that’s it 🤷♂️
Just add a $ to the beginning of a prop. And that attribute will not be shown on the DOM.
And your errors are now GONE 🔥
We noticed this on one of our SaaS products we are building, and figured out this as a solution.
