If you don’t have it, I highly recommend getting it. It’s costs $120 every five years and comes with TSA PreCheck - and many credit cards reimburse the fee. It does require a quick interview and if you can’t find an appointment, use the app @appointmentscanner which will constantly check for new appointments and you’d be shocked at home many become available. Also- GE isn’t just for US citizens- it’s open to permanent residents (Green card) as well as citizens from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bahrain, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Germany, India, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
