Here’s what I learned from a brand builder who created Fogg, WhiteTone, and many other iconic brands: 💥 His rule: Don’t enter small pools hoping to make a splash. Build where tides already exist. 🎯 Step 1: Don’t launch a product in a category less than ₹2000 Cr. Why? If the market is tiny, the max share you get will still be small. Big dreams need big playgrounds. 💸 Step 2: Only pick categories where current players make 20%+ EBITDA margins. Why? Because marketing burns cash. If the category runs on 7-8% margin, there’s no oxygen left after customer acquisition. ⚙️ Step 3: Differentiate your product clearly. Make something truly different, not just prettier. 🧠 Step 4: Communicate that difference in 30 seconds or less. People don’t listen to 2-minute pitches. 🚫 Stop trying to “educate” — start trying to connect. Here’s how he executed this: In deodorants (₹2,000+ Cr market), he made gas the villain, “No gas” the hero → Fogg. In pain relief, he said: “Black balm = sticky, ruins white shirts.” → White balm = non-sticky, day-friendly. In skincare, he flipped fairness cream from lifelong transformation to instant event-based fairness → WhiteTone. The real genius? They all followed this framework like a playbook. 📌 Massive category. 📌 High profit margin. 📌 Sharp product difference. 📌 Fast & clear communication. Want to build the next big brand?
