Why this can happen ⬇️ • Loss of the outer eyebrows → slowed hair growth from low thyroid hormone 💇‍♀️ • Puffy, rounded cheeks → fluid retention and slower metabolism 🌝 • Very cold hands and feet → reduced circulation and heat production 🧊 • Very dry skin → lower oil production 🧴 • Deep ridges in nails → nutrient deficiencies💅 Many of these signs can also be influenced by stress hormones, blood sugar imbalances, nutrient deficiencies and immune dysfunction, all factors that impact thyroid health. Your nails can reveal more about your health than you think. Hyperthyroidism doesn’t always start with dramatic symptoms. Sometimes the early signs show up in subtle ways — including changes in your nails. In this video, I break down 3 nail changes that can be associated with thyroid imbalance. Now let’s be clear: Your nails don’t replace bloodwork. But your body gives clues before labs even shift. If you’ve noticed: • Brittle or soft nails • Nail lifting from the nail bed • Unusual ridging or thinning It might be time to look deeper at your thyroid health. Don’t ignore the small signals. They’re often the first whispers before the body starts shouting. if you’re looking for natural support with thyroid issues comment thyroid below, and I’ll reach out to you personally

Believe it or not, your nails can tell you a lot about your internal health. They offer crucial clues about what’s going on inside your body, especially when it comes to nutrient deficiencies. For instance, vertical ridges on your nails could indicate a slow thyroid, but they could also mean a vitamin B12 or iron deficiency. Fungus on your nails, identifiable by a yellowish discoloration, is an indication of low biotin because of an imbalance in your gut. If your nails have little white spots, it could be due to a zinc deficiency. This is common, as refined carbohydrates and sugar deplete zinc. Horizontal thin white lines near the base of the nails are indicative of low calcium. Thicker white lines in a different location are usually because of a vitamin B3 (niacin) deficiency. If your nails are slightly brown or grey, it could be low B12. This is especially true if you are a vegan, as B12 comes from animal products. And if your nails are mostly white with a pink strip across the top, it could also be low B12. If they are completely white or blue, it could be low B1. If you found this information helpful, don’t forget to share it with someone who might benefit from it too. Follow @‌drericberg for more! #drberg #health #nutrition #nails

COMMENT ‘THYROID’ - Look at your nails. • No little moons (lunula)? • Deep vertical ridges? • Splitting, peeling, brittle edges? • Slow growth? Your thyroid might be whispering for help. LIKE + SHARE + SAVE + FOLLOW FOLLOW BACKUP @alchemistyrising.shadow FOLLOW @westinchilds Your thyroid controls metabolism, circulation, temperature, hair, skin… and yes — nail growth. When T3 is low or conversion from T4 → T3 is sluggish, the body conserves energy. Nails are one of the first places it shows. And here’s what most people miss: Thyroid issues are rarely just “a thyroid problem.” They’re often a mineral + methylation problem. ✨ RISE supports methylation with bioavailable B vitamins that help your body properly convert and produce active T3. It also supports the brain + nervous system — and your thyroid is directly regulated by the brain (HPA axis matters). ✨ VIBE (Source) replenishes trace minerals your thyroid literally cannot function without: • Iodine (trace, balanced amounts) • Selenium • Magnesium • Zinc These minerals are required for hormone production and conversion. Without them? The thyroid struggles. And here’s the part no one talks about… These are frequency-charged nutrients. The harmonic frequencies help the body recognize and utilize the minerals more efficiently at a cellular level — not just pass them through like expensive pee. When the terrain is supported… The thyroid doesn’t have to scream. Your body knows how to balance — it just needs the right inputs. They called it cosmetic. I called it a clue. Because nails don’t just change for no reason. They are one of the first places your body shows nutrient depletion and thyroid imbalance, and those same nutrients and thyroid shifts can affect your cardiovascular health too. If your nails are suddenly: • brittle, peeling, splitting • deeply ridged • slow-growing • thin or weak • breaking no matter what you do It might not be “just your nails.” Here’s what gets missed all the time: • Full thyroid panel (not just TSH) • Iron status (ferritin, iron, saturation) • B12 and folate • Zinc • Vitamin D • Magnesium • Blood sugar and insulin markers (because nutrient issues can start with absorption and metabolism) Why this matters for your heart too: When thyroid function is off, it can change heart rate, rhythm, cholesterol patterns, and blood pressure. And when nutrient status is low, your body has less “building material” for healthy nails and less support for normal energy production and cardiovascular function. Your nails might be waving a little flag that something deeper needs attention. I made a guide that breaks down: • the signs that can point toward thyroid, gut, or nutrient issues • the exact labs to ask for • what “normal” results can still miss • how to connect symptoms like fatigue, palpitations, cold hands, hair shedding, and brittle nails into one picture Comment “BUNDLE” and I’ll send you the link (must be following), or grab it through the link in bio. Quick note: nail changes can have multiple causes, so this is not a diagnosis. It’s a reminder to look deeper if your body is asking for help. Your nails are more than cosmetic — they’re a window into your nutrient status, circulation, thyroid health, and overall metabolism. When something is off inside the body, the nails often show the first signs. Here’s what common nail changes can mean: ⸻ ⚪ 1. White spots Usually linked to zinc deficiency or minor trauma. Zinc is essential for immunity, healing, and hair/nail growth. ⸻ 🧱 2. Brittle, cracking nails Often associated with iron deficiency, hypothyroidism, or low biotin. If nails break easily, your metabolism and thyroid may need attention. ⸻ 🕳️ 3. Spoon-shaped nails (koilonychia) A classic sign of iron deficiency anemia. Nails curve upward because oxygen delivery to the nail bed is reduced. ⸻ 🌫️ 4. Pale or whitish nails May indicate poor circulation, anemia, or protein deficiency. Healthy nails need oxygen-rich blood and strong keratin production. ⸻ ⚫ 5. Dark vertical lines Can be harmless — but in rare cases indicate melanoma. Always check any unexpected dark streaks. ⸻ 🟤 6. Yellow, thick nails Often related to fungal infection, but can also signal respiratory issues or lymphatic congestion. ⸻ 🔵 7. Blue-tinged nails Indicate low oxygen levels — circulation or lung issues may be involved. ⸻ ⚡ 8. Beau’s lines (deep horizontal ridges) Caused by major stress, illness, fever, malnutrition, or thyroid imbalance stopping nail growth temporarily. ⸻ Your nails are messengers. They show deficiencies before bloodwork sometimes does. Pay attention to the small signals — your body is speaking. 📚 Source: Mayo Clinic Proceedings (2021).
