THTouch Me Nots are a fascinating species. They’re so sensitive and make it obvious when they don’t feel safe, closing in on themselves when threatened. Us humans do something similar when threatened— we isolate, or shut down, we distance ourselves to feel safe. Though research has shown how connection in vulnerability is the key to healthy relationships, we don’t want to take the risk. Like the plant, we’re so alert to the slightest shift in ourselves of the environmental before closing off. What would change if we stay and let ourselves be impacted?
