LA FEDERACIÓN "TUPAC KATARI" SE LEVANTA. ¿DÓNDE ESTÁ LA CSUTCB?
A pesar de la injerencia y el golpe sindical del gobierno de Arce Catacora, la Federación Sindical de Trabajadores Campesinos "Tupac Katari", que reúne a las 20 provincias de La Paz, se une en contra del gobierno con un pliego de 100 puntos. Entre ellos se encuentran la renuncia del presidente, la reducción del gasto público, la rebaja de sueldos de funcionarios y autoridades, el respeto a la independencia sindical y el cumplimiento de proyectos en las 20 provincias.
Un líder que ha ganado visibilidad por su discurso claro y su postura ideológica comprometida es David Mamani, miembro de los ponchos rojos de Achacachi, quien fue elegido primer Ejecutivo de la Federación en un multitudinario congreso el pasado 2 de junio. Mamani fue desconocido por el gobierno por oponerse a las exigencias de Arce de participar en marchas de respaldo al presidente. Esta organización sufrió la toma física de sus oficinas por parte de la policía con la complicidad de dirigentes vendidos al gobierno. La "intentona" divisionista de Arce fue superada gracias a la UNIDAD y al amplio respaldo a la dirección sindical de David Mamani.
Hoy fue una jornada de lucha importante en términos político-sindicales en la historia del movimiento campesino y del Estado Plurinacional. Después de la marcha del TIPNIS, fuertemente reprimida en 2010, y de otras marchas y movilizaciones de pueblos indígenas y organizaciones campesinas, como la de los Qhara Qhara, esta es la primera movilización social que logra articular a todas las provincias de La Paz tras años de clientelismo y sumisión política. El pongueaje político ha pasado factura al pueblo, dividiendo a la clase dirigente de sus bases descontentas. Durante la crisis política de 2019, fuimos testigos del desborde social frente a dirigentes que permanecían en silencio ante los hechos de violencia del régimen de Áñez. Con la llegada de Arce al poder, al estilo de Evo Morales, se intenta nuevamente acallar a las organizaciones con medidas de control y cooptación política. A.16 June, 1971: HIP HOP ICON TUPAC SHAKUR IS BORN
On this day, 16 June, in 1971, legendary rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in East Harlem, New York. Also known by his stage names Makaveli and 2Pac, Tupac became one the last century’s most prominent politically conscious artists.
Some say his political education began in the womb. His mother, Afeni Shakur, was a former Black Panther Party member. When her son turned a year old, she named him Tupac Amaru Shakur, after the 18th-century Peruvian revolutionary Túpac Amaru II.
In this clip, Tupac eloquently draws parallels between US foreign policy and the gang mentality prevalent on America’s streets. His unique perspective sheds light on the aggressive nature of US interventions, whether it’s in Cuba in the late 1950s and early ‘60s or in Yugoslavia in the 1990s (where war was raging when this interview took place). Since then, the US has continued its pattern of interventions, including the invasion and destruction of Libya in 2011.
Tupac was more than a hip-hop hero. He was an activist dedicated to the liberation of Black people in the US. Moreover, he often pointed out the class struggle and the marginalisation and disenfranchisement of people by the global elite. His music and speeches resonated with millions and earned him supporters far beyond the borders of the US.
