Not every new client project needs a new font! Part of the art of being a designer is curating a library of typefaces that works for you, time and time again. It’s why I design everything with versatility in mind. The imagery or color palette you put next to each of my typefaces can COMPLETELY change the vibe. So when you fall in love with a typeface, you don’t always have to resist the temptation to reach for it again. Just change the environment it’s in, and it’ll feel completely new. The same fonts can feel aligned with different clients. Play favorites if you really love something and it’s aligned with your client’s brand and strategy! When we started the rebrand, we had a good idea of where we wanted to take the brand. What we needed were collaborators who could bring a strong point of view that aligned with that direction — people who could help shape it, not just execute on it. We looked across a range of designers and studios, and Ruth Kim stood out immediately. Her work felt closely aligned with the kind of brand we wanted to build — not just in style, but in perspective. We’d worked with Ruth before and knew she brought a distinct eye and a strong point of view. Beyond client work, she has a way of thinking about systems and identity that felt right for this. Just as important was how she worked. This was a focused, nimble process — a small team, close collaboration, and a lot of iteration. Back and forth on design, layouts, systems. The kind of process that asks a lot, but also sharpens the work. What she helped build became the foundation — the visual identity, the color system, the type system, and the guidelines that define how Acronym shows up today. We’re really proud of what we made together. And grateful she was part of shaping it with us. Thank you, @kimruthh. This one’s yours too.

When text blends into the background, your message disappears and so do potential clients. ‼️ Good graphic design isn’t about colors you like. It’s about readability, visual hierarchy, and clarity. Remember this rule: light background ⚪️ → dark text ⚫️ dark background ⚫️→ light text⚪️ Save this if you design posters, branding, UI, or social visuals. Follow for more design hacks.
