DWThe #Hyderabad Branch of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) conducted a raid on an Amazon warehouse in Shamshabad. During the operation, they seized 2,783 uncertified products valued at over ₹50 lakh. The items included smartwatches, electric water heaters, CCTV cameras, and toys that were lacking the mandator BIS certification. Legal action is currently underway for violations of the BIS Act, 2016.

Here's how it's made:
First — head to West Africa, where most uncertified chocolate comes from, and source the cheapest labor you can find… children.

Next, after the cacao has been bathed in pesticides and chemicals its whole life…
Dry the cacao pods in the sun and let them ferment.
By the time they’re ready, mold has set in — so now it’s time to bake the beans to kill the mold.
Then smash them, remove the husk, and blend them into a paste.
To that paste, add about half its weight in refined white sugar.
Throw in soy lecithin and PGPR to emulsify, plus “natural flavors” and preservatives.
Mix it up, package it, and ship it.
Now, it’s ready for the consumer.
You see, most packaged “food” isn’t food at all.
