EU🌍🤹♂️ Ptuj Visit Recap – Building the Path to EJC 2026
Our days in Ptuj have come to an end, and what an inspiring visit it has been! Representatives from Circo Diverso (organizers of EJC 2022), members of the EJA, and friends from past and future EJCs gathered in Slovenia to support the preparations for EJC 2026.
Throughout the visit we:
🔹 Explored all the potential venues and key locations
🔹 Held meetings with the local organizing team
🔹 Shared experience, knowledge, and lessons from previous EJCs
🔹 Worked side by side with teams from Tres Cantos, Ovar, Lublin, Italy, Arnhem, and the emerging Brunek 2027 crew
What stood out most was the incredible hospitality of Ptuj, the warmth of the community, and the strong commitment of the local team. The city is beautiful, full of possibilities, and offers fantastic conditions to host a European Juggling Convention.
This visit reminded us how much work, collaboration, and passion go into creating an event of this scale — and how powerful the EJC community becomes when different generations of organizers come together.
We leave Ptuj motivated, grateful, and excited for what’s coming.
EJC 2026 is on its way — and it’s going to be something truly special.

TONa Ptuju se je v soboto 11.11 zgodil prvi KRAMPUS LAUF skupine @krampus_iberlauf .
Zanimiva prireditev, ki je pritegnila veliko gledalcev, saj kaj takšnega razen v času fašenka v manjši udeležbi na Ptuju še nismo imeli.
Krampus je parkeljn, ki je mitološko bitje in je podoben hudiču ter spremlja svetega Miklavža. Videz parklja se od države do države razlikuje.
Spomnim se iz otroštva, da smo se zelo bali parkeljnov sicer niso bili takšni kot Krampusi malo drugačni a smo imeli strah pred njimi.

SAObiskali smo Ptujsko pravljico 2024, ki traja do 31. decembra, in odšli domov polni nepozabnih skupnih adventnih spominov!🎅🎄♥️ So vam bili utrinki v storyjih všeč? 🤗
(Oglas) Tu pa so še nasveti za obisk Ptujske pravljice:
* Parkirajte na Zadružnem trgu P+R in se, mimo Ptujskega prstana s panoramskim razgledom, odpravite do starega mestnega jedra peš čez čudovito okrašeni most za pešce.
* Skočite do glavnega prizorišča na mestnem trgu, kjer so kulinarične hiške, lepa okrasitev, fototočke in bogat kulturni program, še posebej pester od 20. decembra dalje..
* Na Miklošičevi ulici obiščite sejem rokodelcev, pa fototočko in vrtiljak za najmlajše.
* Le korak stran, na mestni tržnici je postavljeno pravljično drsališče. Izposoja drsalk je 2 evra, družinsko doživetje neprecenljivo⛸️🧊. Tudi tu vas čakajo kuiinarične hiške, da se okrepčate.
* Na Slovenskem trgu so pod osvetljenim mestnim stolpom postavljene smrečice. Sprehodite se tudi po najstarejši Prešernovi ulici, mimo zgodovinskega hotela Mitra.
* Do 19. ure obiščite razgledno ploščad na gradu.
* Na Ptuju prespite, da lahko mesto in krasne ljudi res začutite. Otroci bodo še posebej veseli skoka v @termeptuj!

DR🎄ADVENT NA PTUJU🎄
December se je oddel v lučke in mi smo se odločili obiskati naše najstarejše mesto Ptuj. Tukaj advent traja kar cel mesec, zato je sigurno odlična destinacija za družine. 😉
Praznični utrip se čuti po celem mestu, ki ga lahko počasi odkrivate, prespite in se potem še podnevi podate na grad ali v Terme. Veliko je lokalnih ponudnikov, katerih izdelke lahko vidite tudi na stojnicah.🐝
Od februarja je odprta tudi nova znamenitost in sicer Mestni stolp. Ogromno časa in ljubezni je bilo danega v obnovo in res vam priporočamo obisk.
Ptuj je bil izbran tudi za najboljše mesto kulturne dediščine v Evropi za leto 2026! 🔥

Glavni dogodki v decembru so predvsem prihod Božička in njegovega nabiralnika, ki bo 14.12 ter pester program za otroke👧👦
December has wrapped itself in lights, and we decided to visit our oldest town, Ptuj. Here, Advent lasts the entire month, which makes it a wonderful destination for families. 😉
The festive spirit can be felt throughout the whole town, which you can slowly explore, stay overnight, and then continue your adventure during the day by visiting the castle or the thermal spa. There are many local vendors whose products you can also find at the stalls. 🐝
Since February, a new attraction has been open — the City Tower. A great deal of time and love went into its restoration, and we truly recommend a visit. Ptuj has also been chosen as the Best Cultural Heritage Town in Europe for 2026!🔥

The main events in December include the arrival of Santa Claus and his mailbox on December 14, as well as a rich program for children.👧👦

Ptuj słynie również z corocznych tradycji karnawałowych, tzn. Ptuj Carnival - gdzie odbywają się koncerty 🎸 prezentowane są tradycyjne stroje ludowe i inne atrakcje przyciągające tłumy turystów.

Im Gespräch auf dem historischen Marktplatz erzählen Bojan Miško und Nirgül begeistert vom farbenfrohen Spektakel Kurentovanje – einem Fest, das nicht nur den Winter vertreibt, sondern auch die Herzen öffnet.
🌬️ Die Glocken der Kurents läuten lautstark den Frühling ein, schwere Felle tanzen durch die Stadt, und Menschen aus aller Welt strömen nach Ptuj, um dieses einzigartige Erbe zu erleben.
🎡 Bojan verrät:
„Früher durften nur unverheiratete Männer das Kostüm tragen. Wer ein Mädchen auf dem Hof für sich gewinnen konnte, durfte bleiben – ansonsten zog er weiter zum nächsten.“
🍩 Nirgül lacht:
„Und wer keinen Krapfen isst, war gar nicht wirklich hier.“
🥂 Gemeinsam schwärmen sie von den köstlichen Likören, den edlen Weinen – und davon, wie sich diese Stadt in Licht, Klang und Leben verwandelt.
🚗 Nirgül erzählt, dass sie mit Ceylan morgens um 5 Uhr losfuhr – und schon am frühen Nachmittag entspannt in Ptuj ankam.
„Die Autobahn war frei, wir sind förmlich geschwebt. Februar ist perfekt für diese Reise.“
💬 Bojan wünscht sich, dass viele Menschen neugierig werden, kommen, fühlen, erleben – und Teil dieses Wunders werden.
