AD 33 is one of the few years where the 14th of Nisan aligns with a Friday 📚 Historical Context: The reign of Pontius Pilate fits an AD 33 scenario 🪨 Earthquake: the Bible also references an earthquake occurring during the time of Jesus’ death. Yes, culture has layered traditions onto it: bunnies eggs candy None of that is biblical. But the resurrection of Jesus Christ is not pagan. It is the foundation of the Christian faith. “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile.” (1 Corinthians 15:17) So the real question isn’t: “Can Christians celebrate Easter?” It’s: What are you actually celebrating? Scripture gives freedom when it comes to days: “One person esteems one day as better than another… each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.” (Romans 14:5) You don’t have to celebrate Easter. But you are absolutely free to. And if you do, it should point back to this: Jesus died. Jesus rose. Sin was defeated. Death was conquered. That’s not tradition. That’s truth.
