NOWhat Wind Waker could have been!
Who remembers this now infamous Zelda tech demo from Spaceworld 2000?
It was only 10 seconds and part of a video showcasing Mario, Pokémon, Luigi's Mansion, and Metroid but it made people go crazy thinking this was the next Zelda we would be getting.
Fast forward a year and the release of Wind Waker had a lot of people annoyed that they had gone with the cell-shaded, Toon Link style over the more dark style of OoT/MM - especially as they had shown what Zelda could have been!
We all know Wind Waker is a great game but after seeing this footage, you can see why people were unhappy at the time.

VIA shot I have been working on whenever I have some free time in my hands. It's still a WIP and far from finished! Thanks to @max_gierkink that animated the 3D layout in Blender. We went through various versions and changes, eventually going with this render that fits the camera and movement exactly how I want it to be. I'm happy with how it's turning out and appreciate the teamwork that has been put into this one 🫶
