Why are ADHDers so clumsy? It’s not carelessness. ADHD impacts executive functions - including coordination, spatial awareness, and attention. 👉 Your brain is constantly jumping between stimuli, so your body can miss small details… like where the table actually is. How to reduce clumsiness with ADHD: • Slow down transitions (rushing = more accidents) • Keep spaces minimal (less objects = fewer collisions) • Use “pause before move” (1-second check before standing/walking) • Don’t multitask while moving (this is a big one) If this is you… you’re not broken. Your brain just works differently 💜 Follow us for more ADHD tips & comment ADHD and I’ll send you a free test. @unique_adhd @unique_adhd @unique_adhd #adhdawareness #adhd #adhdwomen #adhdproblems #adhdsupport

To be honest, I DIDN’T think that my daughter has ADHD, but now that I know all that ADHD encompasses, I can think back to MANY things. ⭐️ Next level toddler tantrums…that she hasn’t grown out of. Kids with ADHD have a hard time regulating their emotions. ⭐️ Easily distracted. Kids with ADHD just go with what is most interesting to them in the moment without giving any thought to anything else. In kindergarten, Skylar went missing for 30 minutes. She was found in the bathroom playing with the soap suds in the sink. ⭐️ Inability to focus. When Skylar was in the 1st grade, she would come home with HOURS worth of homework to do. Come to find out, she was bringing home “stop folder” work. In other words, the teacher would give them work in class, then when it was time to move on the next activity, she would say “stop” and the kids would put any unfinished work in a folder to be done at home. She wasn’t doing ANYTHING in class. ⭐️ Trouble sleeping. ADHD kids have a hard time turning off their brains…which results in them having a HARD time falling asleep. Skylar would be up for HOURS after we had put her to bed. ⭐️ Sensory Processing Disorder. Turns out, this is common in kids with ADHD. Skylar has always been sensitive to the feel of things as well as sounds. There are more…so many more. But these are some of her struggles that made me start talking about her…which ultimately led us down the path to an officially diagnosis of ADHD Inattentive Type. Listen to your mama gut. If something feels off, it probably is. Pay close attention and talk to people. You’ll find the help you need. It definitely takes a village to raise these amazing kids!

Reading with ADHD (especially inattentive type) be like…
You sit down, open the book, read a line…
…and suddenly your brain is planning dinner, reliving that awkward thing you said back from 2009, or daydreaming about moving to a different country. If you too read the same sentence 5 times. Zone out mid sentence. Start 12 books and finishing none… same sis 😅 Here are 3 shifts that help me: 1. Swapping to Audiobooks. It’s working smarter, not harder (especially if you’re an auditory learner) 2. Be flexible with your focus. Some days you can read for 20 minutes, other days 2 sentences. 3. You don’t need to finish everything you start. Skimming, jumping chapters, or abandoning books is allowed. 4. Binging on a new favourite author until the dopamine wears off. Find a style of writing you love and stick with it. And finally I will not hold myself back from buying new books just because I didn’t finish the last 100 😅 here’s your permission slip to do the same. You deserve self compassion and to follow your latest hyperfocus/new hobbies. Share this with a fellow distracted reader 💕💕 If you’re new here, I’m Alannah 👋 @adhd.with.alannah an ADHD coach who helps high achieving Mum’s build awareness around their ADHD needs . . . . . #adhdcoach #adhdmums #latediagnosisadhd #womenwithadhd #adhdcommunity #adhdmindset #adhdsupport

TALK TO YOUR PHARMACIST!! There are SO many medication interactions my doctor didn’t tell me about when prescribing me ADHD meds. Even if you’ve been on the same meds for YEARS, ask your Pharmacist about interactions with everyday vitamins/medications/etc. They are the most knowledgeable on medication interactions! All meds are different and have different interactions! ALWAYS talk to your Pharmacist! EXERCISE QUESTIONS: Stimulants raise your resting HR ~10-20 BPM. They make your heart work harder. This is TOTALLY FINE if your doctor says it’s okay AND you’re exercising, taking care of your heart, and monitoring your heart health. It should be a continual conversation with your doctor. If you don’t take care of your heart, you’re more likely to develop problems like high blood pressure. If that happens, you’d have to go off stimulants because if your blood pressure gets too high, it can be life threatening. HOWEVER!! If you’re taking care of your heart, you’re much less likely to ever develop problems. AND you’re more likely to be able to stay on meds for the rest of your life. Genetics plays a roll, too. You can develop problems even if you’re taking care of your heart. Others could never develop problems even if they didn’t take very good care of their heart. #adhdmedication #adhdmeds #adhddoctor #adhd #adultadhd #adhdinwomen #adhdrelatable #adhdlife #adhdbrain #adhdsquad #adhdtribe #adhdawareness #savetimeshanadhd #savetimeshan #adhdsymptoms #adhdtips #adhdmanagement #adhdlifehacks #adhdlifehack #adhdhelp #adhdsupport #adhdprobs #adhdproblems
