BEˣ I could give you a play-by-play of the AFTD conference, but you can easily see that information by catching the recordings when they are posted online (and I truly encourage you to!). Instead, what I want to share is how I felt.
The AFTD Education Conference reminded me that real connection starts when we step past the fear of reaching out. AFTD’s support groups, educational resources, and HelpLine are not just services, they’re lifelines. You don’t need to have all the words or know exactly what you’re asking for; just showing up is enough.
Caregiving can feel like an island, but it’s not meant to be. There are people who get it… who will walk beside you without judgment or expectation.
If FTD is part of your story, @theAFTD is ready to meet you with practical help, community, and compassion. And if you’re impacted by other types of dementia, don’t wait to seek your people. There is strength in being surrounded by those who understand.
