“ちょっとくせあり”なデザインが大人にちょうどいい。「アーレム」のメガネ
ずっとコンタクトレンズ派だったのですが、だんだん近くのものが見えづらくなってきたうえに、夜になると目がシパシパしちゃって開けてられない！そろそろ「見る」ことに関して見直す時期がきた……と痛感しまして、メガネで過ごす日をつくってみることに。せっかくならちょっといいブランドで、と思い、おしゃれなメガネをかけている人にどのブランドかリサーチをすると、ダントツで多かったのが「アーレム」。
ご存じの方もいらっしゃるかと思いますが、アーレムは2014年にパリで生まれたアイウェアブランド。職人がひとつずつ手作業で仕上げていて、シンプルながら美しく、目を引くデザインが魅力です。ベーシックな形のメガネは持っていたので、着こなしのアクセントに使えそうな、“ちょいくせあり”のものをセレクト。
見た瞬間「絶対これ！」と即決したのが、こちらのモデル。スマートなキャットアイフレームと、温かみを感じるシャンパンゴールドのバランスが絶妙です。キャットアイはきつい印象になるかな……と思ったのですが、実際にかけてみると驚くほど顔になじむ！いろいろ下がってくる大人の顔をきゅっと引き上げてくれるのも、ありがたい限り。
もうひとつは、かなりごつめのセルフレームをチョイス。個性爆発しすぎ？と思いきや、これまた実際にかけると顔から浮きすぎず、なじみすぎず、そして洋服とも合わせやすく、着こなしのアクセントとしていい仕事をしてくれます。丸ではなく六角形、写真だとちょっとわかりづらいのですがフレームの上部はツヤ、下部はマットになっているなど、小ワザがききまくりの1本。
最初は目のために、と思って買ったけれど、おしゃれの幅が広がったり、メイクや髪型とのバランスを考えるようになったり、嬉しい変化をもたらしてくれたアーレムのメガネ。日々の小さなワクワクをくれる、頼もしい相棒です。（副編N）
