Interestingly this was the only one to run in this way, the position played apart in the kiln as it was in a hot spot the other three pieces had slight movement but nothing this extreme #glaze #pottery #amaco #mayco #handmade

🇬🇧 NEW spring vibes glaze combo by @amacobrent Today we’re sharing another dreamy combo of AMACO Shino + PCF glazes — but this time in soft, pinkish tones 🥰🌸 Honestly… @amacobrent keeps making it way too easy to fall in love with glazing. These are some of our absolute favorite glazes to work with: stable, magical, and always full of surprises. Clay body: light slip casting clay (cup) Glaze combo: 1. SH-52 Hibiscus Matte — 3 coats on the lower half of the cup (outside). Add 3 coats inside on the lower half too, but don’t glaze the inside bottom. 2. PC-55 Chun Plum — 3 coats in the middle of the cup (outside). Overlap slightly on the Shino and cover about half of the upper unglazed area. Inside: same placement. 3. PCF-54 Flux Blossom — 3 coats over everything. Leave about 1.5 cm of SH-52 unglazed near the bottom on the outside, so the PCF won’t run too much. Inside: cover everything. Enjoy your cup in pink petal colors 🌷 Such a perfect spring glaze combo! #amaco #amacoglazes #shino #potteryglazes #cone6 🇨🇿 Jarní nálada s @amacobrent Dneska pro vás máme další snový glaze combo z AMACO Shino + PCF glazur — tentokrát v jemně růžových tónech 🥰🌸 Upřímně… @amacobrent nám to s glazováním dělají až moc snadné. Tyhle glazury patří k našim absolutním favoritům: jsou krásně stabilní, magické a vždycky umí překvapit. Hlína: světlá licí hmota (hrnek) Kombinace glazur: 1. SH-52 Hibiscus Matte — 3 vrstvy na spodní polovinu hrnku (zvenku). Uvnitř také 3 vrstvy na spodní polovinu, ale neglazujte dno. 2. PC-55 Chun Plum — 3 vrstvy do středu hrnku (zvenku). Lehce překryjte Shino a pokryjte asi polovinu volného místa směrem nahoru. Uvnitř: stejně. 3. PCF-54 Flux Blossom — 3 vrstvy přes všechno. Nechte cca 1,5 cm SH-52 bez překrytí u spodku zvenku, aby PCF tolik nestékala. Uvnitř: pokryjte celé. Výsledek je jako růžové okvětní lístky 🌷 Dokonalé jarní glaze combo!

Using a brush on glaze is more time consuming as you need to layer it. I tend to paint 3 or 4 layers, this is a commercial glaze made by Amaco. It’s also a little tricky to paint on a carved surface, it’s important to get into all the grooves so as to not cause any pinholes, tiny little craters on the surface that can be sharp. There is a depth of colour with this glaze which works really well on carved surfaces. As the glaze changes colour with different thickness’s. You may notice this bowl has a little wobble on the rim, I didn’t notice it until it was bisque fired. It just makes the bowl unique 😁 Always working towards perfection! #Ceramicbowl #glazing #amaco #bluerutile #glazingtechnique

Watch as our friends at @amacobrent glaze this ceramic piece with an Amaco Celadon Glaze. 🏺 This glaze breaks beautifully over texture and has a rich color over smooth surfaces. Three coats of glaze are brushed on a cone 04 bisque piece made using Amaco A-Mix White Stoneware No. 11. Amaco Celadons are so stiff that the glaze can be applied all the way to the foot of the piece. Remember to let each glaze coat dry fully before applying the next coat. After applying three, even glaze coats, this piece was fired to cone 5 on a medium speed with no hold. 👉 TIP: when applying Amaco glazes, use a fan brush. This style of brush has a flat ferrule and spread hairs, making it perfect for the application of glazes and underglazes.
