First, make sure you’re not using any heavy creams, oils, balms or harsh scrubs in your routine. 2. Now starting with cleansing, make sure you double cleanse so always start with Micellar water in a cotton pad (don’t use cleansing oils or balms) (LINKED MY FAV MICELLAR WATER) 3. Next go in with a gentle foaming cleanser. No salicylic/glycolic face wash. Please focus on both ‘gentle’ and ‘foaming’. (LINKED THE BEST FOR COMEDONAL ACNE) 4. Now as I mentioned, no scrubs so what for exfoliating? Salicylic acid it is! But make sure to use very gentle serum based SA overnight & not more than twice a week. (LINKED WHICH WON’T IRRITATE EVEN SENSITIVE SKIN) 5. Which serum for rest of the nights ? Use pore unclogging serum which slowly dissolves those stubborn comedones without any irritation (LINKED MY PERSONAL FAV) 6. Another important mentioned for sunscreen. do not use SILICONE SUNSCREEN (the one which feels like there’s a layer on your skin & feels matte) Use light weight sunscreen which absorbs easily & doesn’t feel like a layer (LINKED BEST ONES) 7. I love a good unclogging face mask (it’s totally optional though) Can be used once or twice a week for 5-15minutes (LINKED) 8. I can share tips and treatments regarding acne with you all because I've been in that phase I've seen those days, that feeling and sometimes it just affects your confidence so something in me just clicked and told me that we must do an acne series so that I can help anyone who needs this advice. Obviously in very aggravated cases you must visit a dermatologist. But maybe if you don't want to or can't then you should just try following these and I'm sure you'll see the results. You must know this before treating acne nobody told me this and it changed everything. Before you start another active, peel, or “miracle” treatment, read this. Treating acne the wrong way (over-exfoliating, layering every active, skipping moisturizer) does more harm than good. Acne is mostly an inflammatory + barrier problem, not just clogged pores. If you skip this step, every treatment will fail or make acne worse. The one idea to fix first: protect the skin barrier When your barrier is damaged by harsh cleansers, scrubs, or too many actives, your skin becomes inflamed. Inflamed skin: produces more oil, traps bacteria faster, heals slower and scars more easily Until your barrier is calm, acne treatments won’t work. This is the step most people miss. What people do that makes acne worse Using retinol + AHA + BHA + benzoyl peroxide at once. That’s irritation, not treatment. Scrubbing or microdermbrasion when skin is sensitive. Micro-tears = chronic inflammation.
