In its fifth test flight configuration (often referred to as Starship Flight 5), the fully stacked rocket stands about 120 meters tall and weighs nearly 5,000 metric tons (around 5 million kilograms) when fully fueled, making it the most powerful and heaviest rocket ever built. The Super Heavy booster alone is an engineering giant. It is powered by 33 Raptor engines and produces roughly 74 meganewtons of thrust at liftoff — more than any rocket in history. The booster itself weighs over 3,500 metric tons when fueled. Managing this level of thrust, fuel flow, pressure, and structural stress requires extremely advanced materials, precision manufacturing, and real-time flight control systems. What makes it a true engineering masterpiece is the landing. After separation, the heavy booster flips mid-air, performs a controlled descent, relights selected engines, and slows down from supersonic speeds to land vertically back near the launch site.
