ABStep by step instructions to draw an Islamic Geometric Pattern from Mausoleum of Khwaja Atabeg, Kirman, Iran. I learned to draw this pattern from Issam El-Said and Ayşe Parman book: Geometric Concepts in Islamic Art. The instructions design/template idea came from @ericbroug book of Islamic Geometric Patterns.

ROInanj Khatun (Inānj Ḵātun), wife of the Atabeg Jahan-Pahlavan Moḥammad b. Shams-al-Din Eldiguz (1175-86), the Eldiguzid or Ildegizid ruler in Arran, most of Azerbaijan, and then Jebal. She was the daughter of the powerful Turkish governor of Ray, who was killed at the instigation of Eldigüz in 1169.
An ambitious and forceful personality, Inanj Khatun played a leading role in the confused political and military manoeuvrings in north-western Persia after Jahan-Pahlavan Moḥammad’s death. The latter’s brother and successor, Qizil Arslan (1186-91), married his brother’s widow according to the custom of the levirate. Jahan-Pahlavan Moḥammad seems to have made an arrangement for his four sons to share his lands under the general supervision and overlordship of Qizil Arslan. In the internecine squabbles which ensued, Inanj Khatun supported the claims of her own two sons by Jahan-Pahlavan Moḥammad, Qutlug Inanj Maḥmud and Amir-e Amiran Omar, against her first husband’s two sons by slave mothers.
Meanwhile, the last of the Great Saljuqs of the west, Ṭoghril (III), was attempting to break free from Atabegs’ tutelage. He allied with Qutlug Inanj Maḥmud against Qizil Arslan and the latter’s son Noshrat al-Din Abu Bakr, but after failing to secure outside help had to surrender to Qizil Arslan in 1190 and suffer imprisonment at the Atabeg’s hands. However, Qizil Arslan, who had now assumed for himself, with the Abbasid caliph al-Nāṣer’s approval, the title of sultan, was murdered in mysterious circumstances in Šaʿbān August-September 1191, apparently by one of his golams, but possibly at the prompting of his wife Inanj Khatun. Toghri(u)l, now released from captivity by the amirs of Azerbaijan, quickly defeated Qutlug Inanj Maḥmud and Amir-e Amiran Omar near Qazvin and drove the former to seek security in the citadel of Ray. Inanj Khatun surrendered to Toghri(u)l and married him, probably in 1192, but died at Hamadan shortly afterwards.

KIKızılırmak’ın üzerinde kurulmuş Kesikköprü’den ismini alan ve sadece 50 nüfusu bulunan Kesikköprü Köyü’ne gittim.
Kesikköprü ile ilgili bilgiler;
Kesikköprü, Kırşehir’in 20 kilometre güneyinde, Kızılırmak üzerinde yer almaktadır. Orta Anadolu’daki Selçuklu köprülerinden olup kitabesinde, 1248 yılında Keyhüsrev oğlu Keykavus zamanında Atabeg İzzü’d-din Muhammed tarafından yapıldığı yazılıdır. 17. ve 18. yüzyıllarda köprü üzerinde eşkıyalar tarafından kervan yollarının kesilmesinden dolayı “kesik köprü” adını almıştır. Taş bir kaide üzerindeki tahrip olmuş üç satırlık kitabe, köprünün üstünde yer alır.
Tarihi İpekyolu güzergahında bulunan Kesikköprü, Türk köprü mimarisinin önemli eserlerindendir. Kırşehir ile Konya’yı birbirine bağlamak için yapılan köprü, 400 metre uzunluğunda, 6 metre genişliğinde ve 13 gözlü olup sivri kemerlidir.
