We kicked off Holy Week learning about Palm Sunday how Jesus entered with humility, even before going to the cross. 🌿✨ It was such a beautiful moment to witness. Seeing how the children understood, engaged, and participated made it the highlight of our week. Because it’s not just about what we teach them… it’s about how they experience it. 🤍 Our hearts are full. We are so thankful for what Jesus did on the cross and for His endless love for us. And a reminder: you don’t need a stage to walk in your purpose. This is my platform where I get to do what I love most and use the gifts God has given me. All of these crafts go perfectly with the Resurrection Story Basket that I created. It is a 15-day journey from Palm Sunday to Ascension. 🤍 The digital download includes the cards in this reel and a supply guide. Comment “Easter” to purchase. 🔗 I also have a highlight on my page with more details. 1. Palm Branches 🍃 Fold a piece of green paper in half. Cut out the shape of a leaf. Cut slits in the paper so that it resembles a palm branch. Use a clothespin for the stem. 2. Prayer Hands 🙏🏻 Fold a piece of paper in half. Trace your child’s hand right next to the folded edge. Cut along the line. Write Jesus’ prayer from the garden of Gethsemane on the inside (Matthew 26:39). 3. Barabbas’ Chains ⛓️‍💥 Cut small strips from grey paper. Tape themtogether to make a paper chain. 4. Pilate’s Scroll 📜 Cut down a piece of paper to your preferred size. Roll it up and use a piece of tape to hold it in place. Use twine to tie the scroll closed. Remove the tape. 5. Crown of Thorns 👑 Cut three skinny strips from brown paper. Staple the strips together. Tape the top the a table. Braid the strips of brown paper and connect the ends. Cut slits around the crown to represent thorns. 6. 3 Crosses on Calvary ✝️ Use popsicle sticks and glue to make small crosses. I found the smaller popsicle sticks at Walmart. #holyweek #christcenteredmotherhood #eastercraft

Today’s lesson was all about the cross and the empty tomb ✝️✨ The children learned that even when people were unkind to Jesus, He still chose love. We talked about how Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day—He is alive! We had so much fun bringing our learning to life with a John 3:16 craft, scarf dancing to We Sing Praise, and exploring an “Empty vs. Full” sink or float science experiment. We ended our day watching a short Minno Kids Easter video and enjoyed a fun pizza party to celebrate the end of our week 🍕💛

Holy Week… but make it chaotic + fun 🌿😂 We celebrated Palm Sunday with this stained glass craft and let me just say—there was nothing quiet or peaceful about it 😅 It was loud, messy, kids talking over each other, paint flying everywhere… and honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week—the week leading up to Easter, remembering Jesus entering Jerusalem as people waved palm branches. 🌿 And while I always imagine these beautiful, calm moments… the reality usually looks a lot more like this. But maybe that’s the point 🤍 They’re learning, they’re seeing, they’re part of it. If you want to try it: ✨ use masking tape to create a cross and rains glass design on your window ✨ using washable paint, let the kids fill in the spaces leaving the cross empty ✨let dry, peel the tape off and admire! Simple, doable, and apparently… a little chaotic 😂 Save this for later 🤍 and send it to a friend who needs easy (and realistic) ways to do faith at home. #holywweekathome #christianmotherhood #faithathome #slowparenting #raisinglittlehearts

It has been so lovely to slowly make our way through the Easter story, learning little pieces as we go. Scroll back to see our previous reels if you’d like some inspiration or just to support us along the way. Today we focused on Jesus’ disciples, his special group of friends who he trained to carry on his mission of spreading the gospel, to build his church and to continue making more disciples after his departure. Although they were His closest companions, one of them did betray him. This leading to a discussion of how you can allow evil into your heart, like a Judas did when he became upset with Jesus. (We previously spoke about this when we introduced our ‘I can pray’ emotion and prayer prompt resource) As we continued to discuss, my littles got crafting, we made 4x 3 person paper chain and began to collage their attire. Creating their outfits, we spoke of what we thought each disciple would be like, adding their smiling faces and big heart for Jesus. Except for one of our paper men, Judas, he was given a grouchy face and stone heart. This was a great hands on, collaborative creation to help create a visual demonstration of the disciples and their allegiance to Jesus. Each week in Sunday School and Children’s Church, our children received a special Easter egg containing the Lord’s Prayer. We hope that you’ll say it as a family, then use these discussion questions to help understand Jesus’s words: Family Discussion Questions • What part of the Lord’s Prayer did you notice? • Why do you think prayer is so important? • Why do you think Jesus gave us the Lord’s Prayer? Easter at St. Luke’s is this Sunday, April 5! Sunrise on the branches lawn | 6:30 a.m. Traditional in the Sanctuary | 8, 9, 10:05 and 11:10 a.m. Contemporary in the Fellowship Hall | 9:15 and 10:15 a.m. branches in the branches building | 9:45 and 11 a.m. Please note, this Sunday is a Worship Together Weekend. Child care is available for ages 2 months–PreK. Kinder–5th Grade are invited to worship together with their families. Children’s Worship Activity Bags are available at each service, and our Contemporary Worship services feature a Children’s Message, as well.
