Luckily, our trial pedestrianisation has given us the opportunity to try adding some green to the landscape 🌲🌼 Developed by @edgycollective and Susanna Grant from @hellotherelinda as part of the London Festival of Architecture, the Camden subSTRATUM offers new, sustainably sourced seating developed together with the local community and drought-resistant, diverse planting. @fieldnotesbyemilia visits weekly to keep the planting healthy – listen as they explain why plants like this are so crucial for our urban environment. We’re inviting you to join us for EcoMinds, an 8week creative challenge where young people aged 12 to 16 reimagine Grand Junction for a greener, healthier future. Through handson workshops, site visits, and mentoring from designers and architects, you’ll explore real sustainability solutions and build practical design skills. You can even become an EcoMinds Youth Ambassador, help cocreate a Youth Design Toolkit, and showcase your ideas in a public exhibition. Triton Square, Regent's Place, was designed by @arupgroup in the 1990s. Two decades later, British Land saw the opportunity to expand and adapt it for modern work styles. Rather than demolish, they chose to refurbish. Waterscapes designed and installed a new irrigation system to revitalise the public realm landscape. The challenge wasn't just technical – it was about creating a landscape that complemented the building's renewed purpose whilst delivering measurable sustainability outcomes. The result speaks for itself: a refreshed public realm that balances architectural heritage with contemporary performance standards.
