HIVocê já parou para pensar por que Batman: A Série Animada (BTAS) tem uma atmosfera tão única e sombria? Parte do segredo está na genialidade de sua paleta de cores, que seguiu à risca a Regra 60:30:10.
Essa regra de design sugere que 60% da cena seja ocupada por uma cor dominante (o tom de fundo, geralmente azul escuro ou cinza), 30% por uma cor secundária (quebrando a monotonia, como um vermelho vinho ou roxo) e 10% por um tom de destaque (o ponto focal, como o amarelo do bat-sinal ou um brilho na lua).
O time de designers da BTAS, liderado por Bruce Timm, decidiu que as cores escuras e saturadas eram perfeitas para evocar o estilo noir e a estética Art Déco que definiram Gotham City. Em vez de usar celuloides brancos e pintar sobre eles (como era comum na época), a produção usava cartões pretos, forçando os animadores a pensar em como a luz e as cores se comportariam em um ambiente naturalmente escuro.
